深外学子第35届中国数学奥林匹克竞赛再夺金牌 Cai Zixi, a 10th grader from Shenzhen Foreign Languages School (SFLS), won the gold medal at the 2019 Chinese Mathematical Olympiad on November 30 and was admitted to the national training team for mathematics. When Cai was crowned champion for the first time in 2017, he got a pre-admission offer from Peking University. Under the tutorship of teacher Li Yuhong, Cai has won the top prize for three consecutive years at the competition, setting a new record for SFLS’s performance at the competition. Cai has also been selected as one of the eight winners to be invited to the 2019 China-Japan Teenagers Exchange Program (also known as the “Sakura Tech Program”) to conduct exchanges with Japanese universities, scientific and research institutes, enterprises and their Japanese counterparts, as well as scientists and researchers. Cai has had a fascination for math since childhood and shown extraordinary gift in the subject. Teacher Li was already impressed by Cai’s talent by the time he was in sixth grade and has tutored him ever since. (Yang Mei) |
