The third Cross-Straits Student Baseball League concluded Tuesday in Shenzhen after the fierce four-day season-ending finals. Nearly 900 players from 42 teams from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan competed in five categories based on different age groups. While all champions were from the Taiwan side, which has a long-running tradition of baseball, mainland students saw huge progress in their skills. Most importantly, students of both sides have harvested warm, indelible memories and newly acquired friendships that will go a long way.(SD News)
