Tina, G8B, RDF International School I want to talk to you about why we should do a lot of exercise. In my primary school P.E. class, we just ran a lap around the playground, and then I played by myself. I thought that every P.E. class was like this. I took this P.E. class for six years. Then, when I came to the RDF school, I stopped thinking like this. In my first P.E. class, I was excited, and I was not nervous. I thought it would be just like the primary school — running one lap and playing. But first, my P.E. teacher introduced herself and said “Okay, welcome to my class. Everybody come this way. First, we do some exercise. Okay, good job. I want to teach you some very easy things. Sit down, please. Lie down, put your legs up, and put your elbows up. Make your back straight, okay, very good!” She taught us a lot, and I thought that was the most difficult P.E. class. After this class, I thought “P.E. class is so hard! It’s not easy!” At night I went home and laid down on my bed, “Oh I can’t move. It’s so painful!” The teacher was always saying, “Do your best! Hard is good!” One day, she showed us a video. It was called “Butterfly Circus.” It was about a man without arms and legs, but he liked sports and he had a lot of friends. They helped him and played with him. One day the man learned how to swim, and his friends were proud of him. So many people came to see him perform. Then everybody knew him. His video taught me a lot. Just remember that “hard is good” and “PMA” (“Positive Mental Attitude”). Now I need to try every sport and everything in my daily life. I will try my best forever and ever. |
