Five public high schools to be built in 5 yrs in Bao’an
    2020-01-08  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

BAO’AN will build five public high schools to add 300 classes and 15,000 school seats in five years, according to the city’s five-year high school development plan that was unveiled Friday.

A Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) affiliated school, or Shenzhen No. 12 Senior High School, will be completed this year and be put into use in September.

The SUSTech affiliated school, located at Fuhai Subdistrict, is designed to have 48 classes with 2,400 boarding high school seats.

The whole project will cover an area of 76,274 square meters, with a total investment of 364.86 million yuan (US$52.4 million).

The district government and SUSTech will have strategic cooperation in science and technology, education and talent fields in the future.

At present, 89 percent of the first phase of the project has been completed. A teaching building, arts building and student dormitory as well as a life service building have all been capped.

The other four schools to be built in the next five years are No. 13, No. 16, No. 24 and No. 28 senior high schools.

Except for the No. 28 school, which will be completed in 2023, the other three are scheduled to conclude construction in 2022, according to the report.
