Shenzhen Xinhua Middle School took home several awards from the 2019 National Cheerleading Championships held last month in Longhua District.

The school’s aerobics team won the free routine pom-pom dance championship in the junior open B group and runner-up in technical routine pom-pom dance in the same group. Team coach Xiao Guixiang earned an outstanding coach award, while two cheerleaders, Yuan Xiaolan and Tang Ruiying, won outstanding athlete awards.

Hosted by the General Administration of Sport of the China Gymnastic Sport Management Center, the 2019 National Cheerleading Championships, held from December 19 to 30, attracted over 15,000 participants from some 580 teams from across the country.

Xinhua Middle School’s cheerleaders amazed the judges with their confidence, eye-catching uniforms, energetic music choice, creative and highly-organized dance routines, and advanced-level dance moves.
