A trip to Nankun Mountain
    2020-01-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Lu Yang, Class 7, Senior 2, Shenzhen Xin’an Middle School Instructed by Tang Ying

In the middle of August, after I had finished most of my homework, my family decided to take a trip to Nankun Mountain with my cousin’s family to relax.

On the road to Nankun Mountain, we were all in a good mood and looked out of the window to enjoy the beautiful scenery. We drove along the sinuous mountain roads with various trees accompanying us all the way.

We got there at noon and had lunch at a farmhouse restaurant. The menu was full of delicious local dishes, for example, farmhouse roasted chicken. Moreover, the host family was very enthusiastic to welcome and serve us. We ordered a few dishes and enjoyed them very much.

For the first two days, we lived in a big villa near the mountain. We did a lot of things there.

In the evening, we sang karaoke in the hall and shared interesting things and experiences together, which helped us build stronger relationships with each other. In the afternoon, we rented bikes and cycled to a swimming pool near the villa.

After swimming, we went to a shopping mall to buy some food to cook dinner. After we finished dinner, my cousin invited us to play cards. While playing cards, we had fun and laughed.

The most unforgettable thing of this trip was the boat journey, which was breathtaking. Each boat could hold two people and it had ample safety measures; however, we still feared injury. In the first half of the drifting, we just lay in the boat comfortably and enjoyed the sunlight. However, in the second half, everything changed.

The boat fell down from a high place as we screamed and we nearly fell out of the boat. The most thrilling part was the last part.

As the deep stream was full of big rocks, we rushed toward a big rock and almost flew up like birds. We finally arrived at the finish line safely and got to land as quickly as possible.

This trip got rid of the pressure from studying and work, and it was very relaxing. I will never forget that harmonious family time.
