Han Ximin, Lin Lili ximhan@126.com SHENZHEN has allocated anti-pandemic materials including 300,000 masks to the overseas operations of Shenzhen enterprises in Kenya, Egypt, Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana and India, among others, through the liaison offices of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shenzhen Council (CCPIT Shenzhen). Africa and South Asia, as important markets for Chinese enterprises to participate in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, are also the main destinations for Shenzhen companies to expand into a diversified market. Statistics from the council show nearly 1,000 enterprises in Shenzhen have invested in or have a close trade relationship with Africa and South Asia by the end of December 2019. To better serve the Going Global of Shenzhen firms and to promote the city as a business destination, CCPIT Shenzhen had established six liaison offices in India, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and Nigeria by December 2019. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the economic and trade exchanges of Shenzhen enterprises with these six countries have been severely affected. In order to help local businesses recover and expand into markets overseas, especially in the emerging markets, CCPIT Shenzhen built six WeChat platforms, in which the liaison offices provide services for Shenzhen companies such as product exhibition, real-time updates of foreign economic and trade information, legal consultation, commodity promotion and product docking. |
