SZ students win at US Academic Decathlon
    2020-05-06  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Eleven students from Shenzhen No.3 Senior High School have won a total of 11 medals, including four gold, one silver and six bronze, in the online competitions at the South China venue of the Chinese stop of the United States Academic Decathlon (USAD China).

These senior year participants are currently studying in the school’s preparatory courses for universities in the United States. Chu Haimo won the gold medal in the national final of the economics contest, and other students bagged multiple medals in the music, science and sociology contests at USAD China’s South China event.

The school also earned ratings as a “Holistic Education Rising Star School” and the “Best Organizer.”

USAD is a 10-event scholastic competition that has been held annually for more than 50 years. Participants include teams of high school students from around the world. All the tests and evaluation procedures of this year’s competition were held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 300 teams with 2,500 students from 200 high schools nationwide signed up for the event.
