PASSENGERS of China Southern Airlines can now access the self-service check-in and bag drop after scanning their ID cards on the newly installed Bag Drop Counter at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, a source from the airlines company said. Placing a piece of luggage on the carousel, the machine will automatically weigh it and give a security check. A baggage tag will then be printed for passengers to stick to their luggage. The hassle-free baggage check-in process can be finished within a minute, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported. Each bag has to be under 20 kilograms and without fragile items, lithium batteries or power banks. The bag drop service opens one to three hours before the corresponding flight departs. Four self-service check-in and bag drop counters are now available to the passengers. There will be 12 more machines installed at the airport by the end of May. (Chen Siqi) |
