The United States Academic Decathlon (USAD) is a ten-event scholastic competition for teams of high school students and enjoys a history of more than five decades. Each year the competition attracts over 20,000 high school students from top schools. This year 300 or so teams consisting of nearly 2,500 contestants from 200 top high schools competed in the annual event to broaden their academic horizon and challenge their capabilities. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the competition canceled all the offline exams and switched to online evaluation. Although it’s the first time that the students from No. 3 Senior High School of Shenzhen had participated in the competition, they prepared for it in earnest and received guidance from their teachers online.
