Deputy: Improving workers’ skills for career development
    2020-05-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A DEPUTY to the National People’s Congress (NPC) hopes more training to develop new skills can be given to industrial workers for their career development.

Yang Feifei, a technician with Precision Machinery Group of Foxconn Technology Group, said at an interview to Shenzhen local media before the upcoming Third Session of the 13th National People’s Congress that he would voice the concern of workers at the annual session of China’s top legislature.

Yang will make proposals concerning the online real-name registration system, responsibilities of online platforms, and enhancing the training of industrial workers that can pave the way for their career development.

In 2018, Yang’s first year to honor the responsibility of NPC deputy, he called for training of workers in industrial transformation.

“This year, I will continue to call for enhancing technical training for industrial workers and improving their skills through skill contests in ways to help them create a better career development,” said Yang.

Yang came to Shenzhen in 2003 after graduating from a technical school. As a deputy representing industrial workers, Yang put forward three proposals regarding the interest of industrial workers and “every proposal had been implemented or responded to,” said Yang.

Yang set up a liaison office at the Worker’s Union Building of Foxconn Industrial Park in 2018 to learn about and solve the concerns of workers. After collecting complaints through hotlines, emails, letters and on-site visits, Yang handed them to related departments to solve the difficulties of the people.

“We are trying to ensure every complaint is addressed and every concern receives a response,” said Yang.  (Han Ximin)
