A TOTAL of 75 innovative representatives from 17 universities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) are participating in the 2020 Tsinghua SIGS i-Space project, which kicked off online Saturday. The project will provide a seven-week course and a series of maker activities for talented students to further enhance their capabilities in terms of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. Zuo Jian’e, vice president of Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, said at the launch ceremony that the project can not only effectively develop the innovative and entrepreneurial potential of young students, but also facilitate cooperation and exchange between colleges. This year, the project has witnessed an increase in both the number of participating colleges and participating students. The range of colleges involved has also expanded from Shenzhen to the entire Greater Bay Area, with the participants ranging from freshmen to doctoral students. According to Shenzhen Economic Daily, the talented students have a wide range of educational backgrounds, including economics, law, engineering, science, medicine, management and art.
