Free liver transplants

SHENZHEN No. 3 People’s Hospital started a program Monday to give free liver transplants for children in need of the surgery, but without the means to afford it.

Operations will be given to 20 children, according to the hospital’s plan.

Litchi season

FEIZIXIAO, a variety of litchi, is on sale at Xili Fruit Farm, Nanshan District. The other varieties including Nuomici and Guiwei will also be on the market this month.

The price of litchi decreased compared with that of last year.

Citizens can pick and eat litchis in the fruit farm with an entrance fee of 80 yuan (US$11) per person. Take-out litchis will be charged 30 yuan per kilogram.

The upcoming Nuomici will be priced at 70 yuan per kilogram, 40 percent lower than the price last year.

Driving schools

STARTING Monday, registration for driving schools can be made on the “i深圳” app, according to the Shenzhen Municipal Transport Bureau.

The system will recommend driving schools according to the intended students’ requirements on fees and training type.
