Recently Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region released the admission list for independent university enrollments for 2020, and 101 students of the Shenzhen-aided Shenta Middle School, who are from both Tajik Autonomous County of Taxkorgan and Kashgar Speical Economic Zone Senior High School, were on the list. Among them, 55 students are from Shenta Middle School and the rest are from Kashgar Speical Economic Zone Senior High School, representing increases of 80 percent and 64 percent respectively compared with last year. Shenzhen aided in the construction of Shenta Middle School, which was physically relocated from another place. The students are mostly of the Tajik ethnicity. Previously, senior students in the school used to study at other schools. This year, the school hosted the senior students on its own. Kashgar Speical Economic Zone Senior High School, which also received assistance from Shenzhen in its construction, was intended to be built into an exemplar of education shared between Shenzhen and Kashgar. The school takes the experimental class of Shenzhen as a lead and has made great achievements in the college entrance examinations over the past two years. The 101 students were enrolled by over 30 colleges and universities in majors including industrial robotics technology, tourism management, logistics management, new energy automobile application and maintenance, financial management, and the flight attendants profession. There are 44 volunteer teachers from Shenzhen who aid in the teaching of Shenta Middle School and Kashgar Speical Economic Zone Senior High School. Their professional guidance and targeted training have contributed to the enrollment achievements this year. According to Li Fang, principal of Shenta Middle School, with the cooperation and support of the volunteer teachers from Shenzhen, the enrollment process was very successful. (Chen Xiaochun) |
