THE Chinese Academy of Sciences Shenzhen University of Technology, which is under construction, will cooperate with Southern University of Science and Technology to launch a master’s degree program that plans to recruit 40 students, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported. Twenty students majoring in electronic science and technology as well as materials and chemical engineering have been admitted as part of the early stage to the program. The program plans to enroll another 20 students majoring in materials and chemical engineering as part of the current stage. Students who join the program will attend courses from Southern University of Science and Technology and receive a diploma from the university upon graduation. Tutors from Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences will also guide students to complete their studies. Meanwhile, SIAT will provide students with allowances for study and meals, commercial medical insurance, industrial cooperation awards, patent invention awards and various special scholarships.
