A PACKAGE of measures will be implemented in the city to improve the commuting efficiency of public bus users, according to a three-year action plan and 2020 work plan on the city’s traffic situation by Shenzhen government recently. The measures include providing on-demand bus services, also known as Mobility as a Service (MaaS) at Futian CBD, Shenzhen Hi-Tech Industrial Park, Chegongmiao and Huaqiangbei, the business centers dense with commuters, planning bus transit services between Pingzhou in Bao’an and Shenzhen Hi-Tech Industrial Pak, between Xixiang and Chegongmiao, and between Baishilong and Chegongmiao. By enhancing the connectivity of Metro, bus, road and slow traffic system, the public transport operators will further shorten intervals of train and bus departures to further improve comprehensive transportation efficiency. The city will designate bus lanes on Bao’an Boulevard, Luofang Overpass and open more bus lanes on Xinzhou Road, Banxuegang Boulevard, Fengtang Boulevard and Fenghuangshan Boulevard. The city will pilot a program giving priority to buses in traffic along Longgang Boulevard through traffic light controls and implementation of video recognition technologies. The city will also initiate a green-light consistent plan for buses running on the route between Huangbeiling and Dapeng at designated time periods. Police and transportation departments will improve traffic organization and improvement on Nanping Expressway, Fulong Road, Meiguan Road, Beihuan Boulevard and Nigang East Road. The speed limits on Fulong Road and Daping Expressway will be increased. In addition, the city will pilot a dynamic fee collection mechanism at parking lots of Shenzhen North Railway Station and Shenzhen International Airport and a flexible fee collection system for roadside parking near public transport terminals and office areas.
