Flight to Dali CHINA Southern Airlines will launch the city’s first direct flight from Shenzhen to Dali in Yunnan Province starting July 10. The pair of flights, CZ5355 (Shenzhen to Dali) and CZ5356 (Dali to Shenzhen), are scheduled to fly each Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The whole journey lasts two hours. Public interest suits THE city is considering regulations on public interest litigation against pollution such as air pollution, water environment pollution and soil pollution to protect the local ecological environment. The litigation regulations have been delivered for deliberation. Man charged A MAN who threw an iron chair from a building in Longhua District was recently charged by Longhua District People’s Procuratorate for endangering public safety through dangerous actions and was sentenced to one year and six months in prison. Shenzhen Evening News said that the man had been unemployed for half a year in the city and did this as a way to let off steam. Academic subjects A TOTAL of 22 subjects of Shenzhen University (SZU) were included on Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2020 released yesterday, seven of which were among the top 100 academic subjects. SZU’s two subjects, namely telecommunication engineering and transportation science & technology, were among the top 50, according to the ranking. Transportation hub A TEMPORARY transportation hub of Huanggang Checkpoint opened recently. Located in the west of Futian Road South and the south of Baihe Road, the station will enable citizens to take buses, taxis and long-distance buses from the checkpoint. Graduation ceremony A TOTAL of 179 doctoral students and postgraduates received their degrees at the graduation ceremony of Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences recently. Among the 179 graduates, 36 chose to enter famous universities at home and abroad for further study. Of the 130 graduates who have been employed, 61 percent will go to high-tech enterprises, 25 percent will stay in scientific institutions and 14 percent will work for government departments or institutions. |
