Sony has just launched Reon Pocket, a wearable air conditioner. The innovative device was first launched for crowdfunding under Sony’s First Flight project around August last year. The Reon Pocket is kept in a pouch in a special T-shirt. The stealthy device doesn’t condition the air as such. Rather, it sits at the base of your neck and uses the Peltier effect (where heat is absorbed or emitted when you pass an electrical current across a junction) to either lower your temperature by 13 degrees Celsius, all without bulk or noise. Users can also use it to increase the temperature by 8.3 degrees Celsius in cold weather. The temperature can be controlled through a mobile app and can be set to the automatic mode. The battery can last for just two hours on a single charge which is quite disappointing. The device can be charged via a USB-C port which we expect to deliver fast charge.(SD-Agencies) |
