SUSTech listed in Nature Index
    2020-07-10  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SOUTHERN University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) was ranked 66th among the universities of the world and 18th in China, according to the Nature Index 2020 Annual Tables by Nature.

Nature updated its statistical calculation between May 1, 2019 and April 30, 2020. With a Fractional Count (FC) of 158.83, SUSTech is one of the 20 Chinese universities that entered the top 100, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported Thursday.

Compared to the data released six months ago, SUSTech has risen nearly 16 places globally and one place among Chinese universities. It is more than 400 places higher than its original position in 2015.

As an emerging and innovative university, SUSTech has been included in highly reputed global rankings. It ranked eighth on the Chinese mainland for Times Higher Education (THE) and 33rd in Asia in the Asia University Rankings 2020 by THE, as well as the best young university on the mainland and 47th in the world in THE Young University Rankings 2020.

Nature Index assesses papers in 82 natural science journals across four categories: chemistry, earth and environmental sciences, life sciences and physics. The 82 source journals were selected by two independent selection teams composed of working scientists around the world, divided between the four categories.
