入股不亏
    2020-08-04  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Meaning:

“入股” means “to buy a stock,” and “不亏” means “not to lose money.” This term, coined by Chinese netizens, literally means “If you buy this stock, you will not lose money.” This saying, perhaps arising from the recent bullish momentum in the stock market, is often used metaphorically to persuade people that doing something is worthwhile.

Example:

A: 有一款网红冰淇淋在天猫旗舰店促销,可是价格还是很贵。

Yǒu yīkuǎn wǎnghóng bīngqílín zài tiānmāo qíjiàndiàn cùxiāo,kěshì jiàgé háishì hěn guì。

A popular ice cream brand is having a sales promotion at its Tmall flagship, but the prices are still very high.

B: 你说的是钟薛高吧,真的好吃,入股不亏。

Nǐ shuō de shì zhōngxuēgāo ba,zhēnde hǎochī,rùgǔ bùkuī。

Are you talking about Chicecream? Their ice cream is delicious, and worth every penny.

A: 作为冰淇淋我还是觉得太贵了。

Zuòwéi bīngqílín wǒ háishì juédé tài guì le。

But I still think it’s too expensive for ice cream.
