A MONTHLONG shopping festival has launched in Shenzhen this August. A total of 20 themed activities, 280 featured activities and more than 1,000 boutique brand activities will be developed over the full month. Consumers will find four distinguishing themes each week in quality consumerism, the night economy, fashion consumers and joyful shopping and traveling. The first week highlights quality consumerism, and activities include a digital products festival, an auto show and a 5G consumer festival, all of which are being held around the city until Sunday. In order to stimulate consumer spending, the city will offer 700 million yuan (US$100 million) in subsidies, and the participating enterprises will offer discounts involving 10 billion yuan to consumers.
