‘Fog Hill of Five Elements’ earns high score
    2020-08-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CHINESE animation “Fog Hill of Five Elements,” which is being shown on the Bilibili app, has earned 9 out of 10 scores on Chinese reviewing website Douban.

The three-episode animation features an intriguing combination of fast-paced martial arts with a soothing style reminiscent of Chinese ink painting. The story draws on both common and little-known cultural references. In ancient times, five magic families, each representing one of the five elements — metal, wood, water, fire and soil — sealed monsters in cages with magic spells. Then one descendant of the fire family seeks to break the seal in order to save his mother, and the battle is joined.

The name of Liu Hun, the creator of the enthralling animation, shows on the credits dozens of times, including producer, director, screenwriter, animator, voice actor and singer of the theme song. He released a five-minute short animation online in 2016 which was soon viewed more than 400,000 times, so he turned the short one into “Fog Hill of Five Elements” which has been viewed 60 million times since it was debuted on the Bilibili app on July 26.(SD-Agencies)
