Dessert, coffee, bakery and wine events this weekend

Dessert carnival

Dessert aficionados are invited to embark on an indulgent journey into the deliciously vibrant world of desserts. The sixth Shenzhen Dessert Carnival will be held at the One Avenue shopping plaza from Thursday to Sunday with 40 exhibitors.

Visitors will find everything from cakes and macaroons, to pastries, ice-cream, chocolate, cookies, yoghurt, milk tea, as well as some Cantonese desserts. With a ticket price of only 80 yuan, foodies can taste 15 exhibitors’ samples.

Dates: Sept. 17-20

Hours: 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., 3:30-6 p.m., 7:30-10 p.m.

Tickets: 80 yuan (including 15 exhibitors’ dessert samples, two colorful face masks and a bracelet accessory)

Venue: B2/F, West Zone, One Avenue, Futian District (福田区卓悦中心西区B2层)

Metro: Line 1 or 10 to Gangxia Station (岗厦站), Exit B

CAFEEX & bakery expo

CAFEEX, or the Shenzhen Coffee Festival, and a bakery expo will be held together at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. Local coffee brands, coffee machine companies, coffee shops, as well as British tea brands and craft beer breweries will showcase their products. Highlighted foreign brands include Assembly, MOK, April, Leuchtfeuer, Ethicus, Lilo and Teapigs.

In addition to drinking coffee samples, visitors can claim a Shenzhen coffee shop map at the exhibition and enjoy a 50-percent discount at 70 local coffee shops from Sept. 18 to Oct. 18. Visitors who collect six festival stickers can enter a lucky draw.

Dates: Sept. 18-20

Hours: 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. (last entry is 5 p.m.)

Tickets: 100 yuan per day, 239 yuan for three days (more discounts for group tickets)

Venue: Hall 8, Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, Futian District (福田区深圳会展中心8号馆)

Wine expo

You can go around the world with just one visit to the Shenzhen TOEwine Expo International where you can taste wines from China, Germany, France, Australia, South Africa, Italy, Spain, Austria, Greece, Israel and Mexico, as well as whisky from Ireland and Scotland and Japanese sake.

The exhibition organizer also offers free bus tours to 200 bars in the city for the expo ticket-holders. Bus schedules can be found on the ticketing miniapp.

Hours: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (Sept. 18-19); 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (Sept. 20)

Tickets: 68 yuan (58 yuan purchased before 11:59 p.m. Sept. 17)
