Siren alarm

THE city will test its siren alarm for air defense between 10:40 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday, according to a public notice by the city government.

The 20-minute test will be sequenced in three stages: early warning, raid alarm and alarm cancellation. Each alarm will last three minutes. The intervals between the three alarms will be seven minutes and four minutes.

Stowaways arrested

A TOTAL of 12 suspects who attempted to stow away have been caught in the coastal waters off Guangdong recently and are now being criminally detained, a release of Yantian District Public Security Bureau, said Sunday.

All 12 suspects were in a speed boat when caught by Guangdong coast guards Aug. 23.
