Rainy days run into weekend
    2020-09-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE rainy weather, showers or torrential rain, will continue until Sunday, Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory said yesterday.

The observatory issued an orange alert citywide for heavy rain at 1:35 p.m., warning that 30-40 millimeters of rainfall would affect the city in one hour. It later raised the level to red at around 2:15 p.m. for Futian, Luohu and some areas of Longgang. Later, the alert for heavy rain was canceled for central and western areas of the city at 3:45 p.m. The observatory also canceled the red alert and orange alert for some areas in the city’s east. The yellow alert for the city’s eastern areas remained effective as of 5:30 p.m.

The short-notice heavy rain has flooded some low-lying areas.

Over the week, the weather conditions will remain unstable. Under the double impact of warm currents from the South China Sea and weak cold air, there will be heavy rain and strong winds between tomorrow and Saturday.
