The Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology (SZIIT) welcomed a total of 773 new students on Sunday to the Longgang campus.

Ding Ning, a freshman student from the computer school of SZIIT, wanted to see the library and taste foods at the school’s cafeteria after arriving at the campus. In recent years, SZIIT has established cooperation with universities including Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and the Zhongshan Institute to jointly cultivate students.

Wu Qiurui, speaking of the cooperation program between SZIIT and Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University, said that the cooperation program provides her an opportunity to study in Shenzhen.

“My family is very supportive of my decision to apply for the program given that the software engineering major can satisfy modern industrial demand. SZIIT also has very good teaching resources,” said Wu.

In March this year, SZIIT cooperated with four universities in Guangdong Province, namely Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University, Wuyi University, Shaoguan University and Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering, to allow qualified students to receive bachelor’s degrees after graduation.

It is said that a total of 728 graduates of this year from SZIIT have received offers of bachelor’s degree programs from universities.

The admission rate reached 67 percent, according to SZIIT.
