Sixteen kids stood out from 61 finalists to win awards at the final of the 5th Shenzhen Youth Modern Manners Contest, which was held at Shenzhen Children’s Library on September 13. A panel of judges selected the 61 finalists from contestants from primary and secondary schools across the city. Contestants told stories of modern manners that took place around them. Topics of the stories ranged from health, personal hygiene and living habits to social distancing amid the COVID-19 epidemic. Their vivid storytelling and compelling stories won applause from the judges and the audience. A key element of this year’s Shenzhen Social Sciences Week, the Youth Civilized Manners Contest aims to further encourage modern manners and promote well-behaved lifestyles among youngsters. The contest was jointly held by the municipal publicity department, the municipal social sciences federation and the municipal culture, radio, television, tourism and sports bureau. (Yu Yuanfan) |
