    2020-09-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

EIGHT startup projects and four overseas projects stood out from the 1,530 valid entries of the Innovation Nanshan 2020 Entrepreneurs Star Contest. An award ceremony was held at Nanshan Culture and Sports Center in Nanshan District on Tuesday afternoon, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

This year, the contest consisted of eight industry competitions covering such fields as Internet and mobile Internet, 5G application, biomedicine, advanced manufacturing, IC and intelligent sensing, cultural technology, artificial intelligence, big data and blockchain.

Among the entries, 1,078 signed up for the domestic competitions while 452 were for the overseas competitions. Competitors were divided into two groups: growth company group and startup team group.

The total prize money for this year’s contest reached 7 million yuan (US$1.03 million), including 2.8 million yuan for industry competitions and overseas competitions, 3.2 million yuan for the final and 1 million yuan for special awards.

The final of the contest was held Tuesday morning. The competitors were matched against each other by drawing lots, after which a three-member team from each side would make a project statement, answer questions and summarize the project.

Wuhan Ammunition Life-tech Co. Ltd. and PITECH (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. won the first prize of the startup team group and the growth company group, respectively.
