The academic and scientific research sector (12,753 yuan) took second place on the monthly salary list, followed by the financial industry (12,704 yuan), including funds, securities, futures and investment, according to a job report issued by zhaopin.com.

In Shenzhen, positions with an average monthly salary over 8,000 yuan accounted for 53.8 percent of the total opportunities in the job market.

There were only 2.3 percent of job positions with an average monthly wage below 4,000 yuan.

The top five industries in the job market in terms of competitiveness are computer software; real estate, architecture, building materials and engineering; IT services; Internet and e-businesses and funds, securities, futures and investment.

Business outsourcing services industry, which ranked fifth in terms of competitiveness in the job market in the last quarter, was out of the top five places this fall.

The job positions that saw highest competition among jobseekers this fall are traffic transport services, IT quality management, testing, configuration management and senior management.

In addition, the competition was also intense for positions such as accountant, tax administration and software developer.

Based on the data, Shenzhen’s competitiveness index this fall dropped by four places from the last quarter to No. 7.

At the same time, the average salary standard showed a down trend, and the gap between industries with high salaries also shrank. (Wang Jingli)
