‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ is getting spooky for Halloween
    2020-09-30  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

“Animal Crossing: New Horizons” is sneaking in its autumn update today. Download it and you’ll be able to get ready for Halloween and also get a free “Ring Fit Adventure” item.

You’ll be able to buy candies from Nook’s Cranny and grow pumpkins to use as a crafting material for new spooky furniture items. You’ll get blueprints for these from your fellow villagers. There are new Halloween costumes to buy from the Able Sisters’ shop, and some undead body paint and eye contacts to unlock with Nook Miles to make yourself look creepy.

On Halloween itself, the pumpkin-headed Jack will appear in your town. You’ll be able to give your villagers candies in exchange for nice surprises. Or not, for a trick. New spooky emotes will be available.

Speaking of emotes, an update to the Nooklink app coming in October will let you emote in-game by using your smartphone.

At the same time, Nintendo is returning Animal Crossing Amiibo Series 1-4 cards to selected retailers for a retail price of US$5.99 per pack. As before, the cards will let players collect cards and, hopefully, find characters that they want to invite to live on their island. If you’ve slept on the whole trend, Nintendo will sell you a “New Horizons” switch for US$300, with pastel green and blue Joy-Cons and a white Switch dock with Tom Nook’s face plastered all over it.

There’s word on the next “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” update, which will arrive in late November. Expect Turkey Day and Toy Day (Thanksgiving and Christmas) preparations then.(SD-Agencies)
