OCT Oh Bay

Everyday from Oct. 1 to Oct. 8, a 15-minute water show will be held at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., a 15-minute music fountain show will be held at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and a night market will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. While the much-anticipated Ferris wheel will open to the public at the end of the year, the sightseeing promenade and coastal entertainment spots in the park remain ideal for holiday leisure.

Metro: Line 5 to Linhai Station (临海站), Exit A

Nantou Ancient Town

A concert of traditional Chinese music and pop songs and a modern light performance will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 1 at the south gate of the 1,700-year-old Nantou Ancient Town. Lanterns with riddles will be hung in a square near the gate Oct. 1-2. Visitors who successfully solve the riddles can claim a folding fan at the information center. A 330-meter-long street inside the centuries-old town has been renovated recently with various historical, art and design exhibitions, as well as restaurants and shops.

Venue: Nantou Ancient Town, Nanshan District (南山区南头古城)

Metro: Line 1 to Taoyuan Station (桃园站), Exit B, and then walk northward for 20 minutes

Bvlgari serpenti

Jeweler Bvlgari is bringing the Italian way of romance and passion to The MixC. The spectacular and sparkling serpenti (snake) luminary installation is accentuating the festive season in a square of the shopping center providing a delightful site for taking photos. Powerful, mysterious and unexpected, the snake has established itself as a jewelry icon since the 1960s, evolving into countless playful interpretations. From the early colorful inspirations to the latest glamorous versions, Bvlgary’s spirit animal has become the ultimate symbol of charm.

Splendid China

More than 3,000 lanterns have decorated a 1,500-meter-long food street at Splendid China • China Folk Culture Villages, where you will feel like you are back in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). A giant moon light installation is an ideal spot to take selfies with. The comprehensive park with 82 famous Chinese tourist attraction miniatures and 27 full-scale ethnic villages also has traditional Chinese folk activities and entertaining performances.

Park open: 9 a.m.-10 p.m. (Night entry starts at 7 p.m.)

Tickets: 49.9 yuan (night entry Oct. 1-8), 149 yuan (daytime entry Oct. 5-8), 210 yuan (daytime entry Oct. 1-4)

Venue: Splendid China · China Folk Culture Villages, Nanshan District (南山区锦绣中华民俗村)

Metro: Line 1 to OCT Station (华侨城站), Exit D

Gankeng Hakka Town

The 300-year-old Gankeng Hakka Town is a tourist attraction with traditional Hakka buildings, farms, Hakka food restaurants and handicrafts shops. From Oct. 1 to 25, a night market will be held at 4-9 p.m. on holidays and weekends. At 6 p.m. Oct. 1, mooncake samples will be offered to visitors in front of the ancient diaolou (watchtower). At 4 p.m. Oct. 2-3, traditional Chinese music concerts will be played at the Nanxianglou Art Hotel.

T-Street Creative Mart

T-Street Creative Mart, a vibrant gathering spot for young people which just celebrated its 12th anniversary and 200th edition last week, will continue to sell personalized accessories, vintage clothes, paintings, toys, home decorations and handicraft items.

Time: 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Oct. 1; 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Oct. 2

Venue: OCT-LOFT, Nanshan District (南山区华侨城创意文化园)
