STARTING Oct. 10, residents of the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions (SAR) can apply to renew Mainland Travel Permits at Shenzhen’s exit and entry administration departments.

They can also apply for a new permit in Shenzhen if the old one was lost or damaged, the Municipal Public Security Bureau said.

Residents from Hong Kong and Macao no longer need to go back to the SARs to access the service. The application procedures in Shenzhen are the same as in both SARs.

SAR residents in Shenzhen can visit the website,

http://ga.sz.gov.cn/, or follow the WeChat account szga-110 (“深圳公安”) to make a reservation and then go to a nearby administration center for the service.

Successful applicants can collect their permit within seven working days.
