Local students win top prizes at space contest
    2020-10-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THREE teams composed of 36 students from Shenzhen No. 3 Senior High School won the top two prizes of a space-related competition, Future Space Scholars Meet (FSSM), in Beijing recently.

This year’s design theme was “space hotel.” Contestants should work out a design plan within 24 hours and present their ideas in English to the judges.

A plan designed by Chen Feiyu and his team, BTF, won first prize.

The plans created by Chen Zihan’s team Star Throne and Liu Lihang’s team Star Gazer won second prize.

FSSM, jointly initiated by the China Space Foundation, the U.S. Space Foundation, the International Teenager Competition and Communication Center, and the U.K. National Space Academy, is a space industry simulation event for young students around the globe.

Almost 300 students across the country attended the contest this year.

This event aims to use space education as a platform for friendly international exchanges among young people.
