Does practicing a lot benefit students?
    2020-10-28  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

David Wang, RDF International School

With the popularization of the nine-year compulsory education system in China, almost all the children are permitted to go to school and have access to the excellent education there.

In order to help the students get good test results, different studying methods are introduced to the students.

Some ask the students to do a lot of exercises which may result in the students feeling tired every day and staying up late to finish their homework, while others assign less homework to reduce their stress. As a high school student, I think all the students should do a lot of study tasks every day and I’d like to improve my study by performing enough exercises.

From my point of view, assignments after class provide the students with precious opportunities to review what they have learned in class.

For example, when I was in junior high school, thinking I had understood all the knowledge instructed by the teachers, I spent lots of my spare time in extra curriculum activities and did few exercises. As a result, I failed to deal with the problems raised by my teachers in the next class. Under my teacher’s instruction, I began to do my homework carefully and practiced a lot after school. During my exercising time at night, I consolidated the key knowledge points acquired in the daytime and had a better understanding of them. Gradually, I gained more confidence in study and communicated with the teacher fluently through the study method of practicing a lot.

All in all, after being persistent in practicing a lot, I’m eager to learn more knowledge from both my school and the extra books. Keeping practicing helps me not only get excellent test scores but also promote my confidence to study well.

Therefore, I hold the belief that doing a lot of exercising is good for students.
