‘Chibi Maruko-chan’

A heartwarming exhibition (88 yuan) based on the beloved Japanese animation series “Chibi Maruko-chan” is being held until Nov. 29 , showcasing recreated scenes, figures and some original manga drafts.

Venue: Yealife, Yitian Holiday Plaza, Nanshan District (南山区益田假日广场Yealife)

Nantou Ancient Town

A 330-meter-long street inside the 1,700-year-old Nantou Ancient Town has been renovated recently with various historical, art and design exhibitions.

Venue: Nantou Ancient Town, Nanshan District (南山区南头古城)

Metro: Line 1 to Taoyuan Station (桃园站), Exit B, and then walk northward for 20 minutes

Contemporary paintings

Paintings by artists of the Creation Institute of the Guan Shanyue Art Museum are on display at “The Current Endless Stream” exhibition until Nov. 1. Entry is free and visitors should book on the museum’s WeChat account “DFYHCWX.”

Venue: Dafen Art Museum, Longgang District (龙岗区大芬美术馆)

Metro: Line 3 to Dafen Station (大芬站), Exit A

Great Art Space

Works at the “Moving Scenes” exhibition are oil paintings and sculptures created by three Shenzhen-based artists, Bao Han, Xue Yang and Zhang Lihua. The exhibition runs until Nov. 1. The “Piano Piano” exhibition showcases rock color paintings by Feng Shiheng. The exhibition runs until Nov. 15.

Hours: 1-7 p.m. (Mondays), 10 a.m.-7 p.m. (Tue.-Sun.)

‘Lighthouse’

Abstract paintings by British artist John McLean (1939-2019) are on display at the “Lighthouse — Go Back to John McLean and His Time” exhibition until Dec. 15.
