Work on 25-km handmade hiking trail starts
    2020-10-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN Park Service has started construction on a 25-kilometer handmade hiking trail linking Tanglang Mountain in Nanshan District, Meilin Mountain in Futian District and Yinhu Mountain in Luohu District.

Without the use of concrete or granite, the hand-built hiking trail, with minimal impact on the environment, will be completed before the end of the year. It is the city’s second-phase “natural trail project,” following the 3.8-kilometer Meilin Mountain hiking trail that was put into use in December last year.

Before the construction, the city’s urban administration organized hiking clubs and associations to participate in the design of the high trail, survey the natural resources and finally decide the route of the trail.

In construction of the trail, the wood and stones found nearby will be used as materials to have the least impact on the trail surface. It will be built and maintained by hand.

The Meilin Mountain handmade hiking trail has been a favorite by residents.

Along the trail, playgrounds for children and parks for learning natural sciences were built for family visits.
