HITSZ robot team wins first prize of robot contest
    2020-11-04  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

The robot team of the Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (HITSZ) stood out from around 100 teams from across the country to become the first-prize winner of the 19th China University Robot Competition (Robocon), which drew to a close in late October.

The robot team of HITSZ was founded in late 2018. This year marks the second time the team participated in the Robocon. Under the guidance of teachers from the university’s experimental and innovative education center and the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation, the team began to make preparations for the contest in the autumn semester of 2019.

In order to better prepare for the contest, during the COVID-19 outbreak the team members held online meetings on a regular basis to exchange ideas. Their contest plans were updated several times according to changes in the contest rules, and alternative plans were formulated in case incidents occured.

First held in 2002, the annual Robocon is one of the most influential robot contests for university students in China.
