As to the matter of whether technology gets in the way of learning, views vary from person to person. In my opinion, technology doesn’t get in the way of learning.

Nowadays, with the development of technology, we find that we can hardly stay in the world without the help of technology. When you look around, you may find some people using mobile phones to call others, some communicating with others by WeChat, some listening to music on MP3 players, and so on. Technology affects our daily lives in almost every aspect without our even noticing. The question is “Does technology get in the way of learning?”

Generally, with the fast growth of the video-game industry and other attractions, many parents think that their children should stay far away from electronic devices. It’s true that if students are allowed they may indulge in computers and mobile phones without limit. They may play video games for a long time, watch TV or do other things with electronic products which has nothing to do with learning. However, using technology properly in learning can help us to study easily. The following reasons may well justify my view.

When students study in the classroom, the teacher usually gives us lessons with the help of a computer and an overhead projector, which can make the lesson more vivid and easier for students to understand. For example, when we learn biology, the teacher can show some pictures that can help us to learn it easily. When we have a geography lesson, the teacher shows some pictures about nature that can show the beauty of the world to us. With the help of technology, the lessons become more interesting and students pay more attention to what is being taught.

For us students, if we can use the convenience of technology, we will have a good learning experience. When we are at home, we can use the Internet to quickly access knowledge. On weekends, some students may have classes at training centers, but with the help of technology, they can also have classes at home. When we are at school, we can use e-books or electronic dictionaries instead of bringing heavy books with us.
