A MUSIC festival will be held tomorrow night on the lawn at Lianhua Hill Park in Futian District to kick off this year’s Shenzhen Park Culture Season, according to a news conference held yesterday at a newly built book bar in Shenzhen Bay Park.

Shenzhen Park Culture Season will last for around two months till Dec. 26, with colorful activities including flower fairs, music festivals and concerts, sports competitions, art performances and nature education events to be held in public parks across the city.

Major events are scheduled to be held during weekends to make it convenient for residents to attend.

Two flower fairs, specifically the 2020 Shenzhen Chrysanthemum Fair and the 2020 Shenzhen Bougainvillea Fair, will be held from Nov. 25 to Dec. 10 in Donghu Park in Luohu District and between Nov. 28 and Dec. 18 in Lianhua Hill Park, respectively.

Four concerts will be held in Lianhua Hill Park, Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo Park, Fairy Lake Botanical Garden and Shenzhen Bay Park during the season.

All concerts will be free of charge to the public. However, residents need to go to the WeChat account, mlszgzh, to apply for free tickets.

More information is available from the account.

An orchestra composed of 120 musicians and artists from Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Macao will perform at the Shenzhen Bay concert Dec. 5.

A rock concert will be held this year, in addition to symphonies and classical music.

Nature education events will be held in Lianhua Hill Park and Shenzhen Bay Park.

More than 20 nature education institutes in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will organize events in Lianhua Hill Park on Nov. 28 and Nov. 29 to spread knowledge about nature.

Given the pandemic, several park events will also be put online for people to participate in.

This year marks the 15th year for the city to hold park culture season activities.
