As a frequent moviegoer, I especially like watching main melody movies. After watching numerous main melody movies, I discover that, besides the movie themes, there are many factors that capture my attention, such as the trend of movies in recent years.

According to the annual survey report of Chinese films in 2018 from the New Media Center and research on the Zhihu website, the audience is eager to see the history of the country and national heroes. Therefore, I believe the main melody movies will gradually play a significant role in the market of Chinese movies.

In 2017, “Wolf Warrior 2” was screened. Although there were many defects in this movie, it has made great improvements from all aspects of film production, compared with “Wolf Warrior” released in 2015. It presents a pioneer of main melody movies in the domestic film industry and strongly enhances its audience’s patriotism and raises a “patriotic wave.”

Soon afterward, “Operation Red Sea” quietly appeared. Compared with “Wolf Warrior 2” which is mainly focused on individual heroism, “Operation Red Sea” pays more attention to demonstrating the spirit of cooperation, togetherness and the unity of soldiers, the fighting defensive awareness, and the maintaining of world peace and stability.

In conclusion, “Operation Red Sea” is more realistic than “Wolf Warrior 2.”

The appearance of “Operation Red Sea” encourages the development of subsequent main melody films to a great extent.

Although failing to break the record of “Wolf Warrior 2” at the box office, it has surpassed many blockbusters in China, such as “The Mermaid” and “Detective Chinatown.”

Based on what I mentioned above, I think the main melody movies will be strong performers in the commercial film industry. Nowadays, although several excellent main melody movies are controversial in China, they have shown their great influence in the Chinese film market.

With more and more attention from the public, the main melody movies will definitely win a bright future worldwide.
