Shenzhen Foreign Languages School (SFLS), a prestigious school in Shenzhen and in the country at large, celebrated its 30th anniversary at its campus in Yantian District on December 3. Shenzhen Foreign Languages School (Group) was officially inaugurated at the celebration conference. At the conference SFLS President Luo Laijin vowed to build SFLS into a globally influential model school with Chinese characteristics. “We strive to set an example in five areas, including group schooling, intelligent education, innovative talent training, open schooling and cultural education, so as to become a more humanistic, more intelligent and more ecological school,” Luo said. It implemented China’s first modern academy education model and actively explored the path of running a diversified and integrated school. In the course of its 30 years of development, the school has built a high quality group of prestigious schools with standardized management and distinctive characteristics. The school currently has eight branch schools with a total of 10,944 faculty members and students. The school teaches six foreign languages — English, Japanese, French, German, Russian and Spanish — and is one of the few schools teaching several foreign languages in China. (Yang Mei) |
