TENCENT Video launched three compilations of its food documentaries Dec. 4 in Fuzhou, capital city of Fujian Province. According to Zhu Lexian, director of the documentary studio within Tencent Penguin Pictures, the three collections each have their own themes: “have a food day,” “flavors” and “tiny tastes.” For the “have a food day” collection, Tencent Video has aired 100 episodes of “Breakfast in China,” a food documentary directed by Wang Shengzhi, as well as a documentary about midnight snacks. The “flavors” series is based on Chen Xiaoqing’s food documentary series “Once Upon a Bite” which will launch its third season next year, and “Flavorful Origins,” which was purchased by Netflix. Zhu said documentaries about “tiny tastes” were planned to launch in late 2021 or the beginning of 2022, as “it needs a huge amount of research and planning.” (China Daily) |
