Free rides ELDERLY people above 60 years old, including compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, can scan their ID cards or residence cards for free rides on most of the public buses in the city thanks to upgrades of the identification system, according to a release of Shenzhen transport bureau. The bus companies piloted the program on 500 buses of 18 routes this June and later expanded across the city. Airport turnover SHENZHEN Bao’an International Airport was among the top three airports in China, with passenger turnover reaching over 30 million in the first 10 months of the year, following Guangzhou and Chengdu airports. The passenger turnovers of Beijing Capital International Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport dropped by 68.1 percent and 59.4 percent year on year, respectively, a research report released by the 21st Economy Research Institute recently showed, citing operation data of the airports. Divorce registration THE online reservation for divorce registrations was temporarily suspended due to a system adjustment in Guangdong Province that will add the function of a “cooling-off period for divorce” into the system, as required by the Civil Code. The “cooling-off period,” requires couples who file for a separation to wait 30 days before their request can proceed. Those who want a divorce make reservations through phone calls or visits to the registration offices, Shenzhen Civil Affairs Bureau said. E-bike registrations POLICE have called for e-bike owners to register their e-bikes at community centers. Starting Wednesday, Dec. 16, those without registration will not be allowed to operate. Residents in Longhua can register their e-bikes at 53 communities throughout six subdistricts. Holiday tickets SHENZHEN Road Passenger and Cargo Transportation Service Center has started selling bus tickets for the New Year holidays at its seven bus terminals across the city.
