Shenzhen Museum

Specimens of butterflies and other insects are on display at an exhibition until Jan. 10, 2021. Relics from the tombs of two Tusi clans in Sichuan Province are on display until March 28, 2021. Visitors are required to book on the WeChat account “iszbwg.”

‘Harry Potter’

“Harry Potter” fans should not miss a free exhibition running until Jan. 8, 2021. Recommended spots include “Hogwarts Houses,” “Platform 9 3/4,” “Diagon Alley,” “Myrtle Elizabeth Warren,” “Mirror of Erised” and “Room of Requirement.”

Venue: One Avenue, Futian District (福田区卓悦中心)

Nanshan Museum

A total of 124 pieces/sets of the State of Chu relics dating back to more than 2,200 years ago are on display until April 5, 2021. Meanwhile, various works with the theme of 12 Chinese zodiac animals created by Han Meilin are also on display until Feb. 28, 2021. Visitors should book in advance on the WeChat account “nanshanmuseum.”

Bay Market

A 200-meter-long street in the MixC Shenzhen Bay has been decked out with lights and food, handicrafts and festive goods stalls for a cozy winter market until Jan. 4, 2021.

Hours: 5-9 p.m. (Mon.-Thur.), 5-10 p.m. (Fridays), 10 a.m.-10 p.m. (Sat.-Sun.)

Venue: The MixC Shenzhen Bay, Nanshan District (南山区深圳湾万象城)

Metro: Line 2 or 11 to Houhai Station (后海站), Exit G

Nantou Ancient Town

A 330-meter-long street inside the 1,700-year-old Nantou Ancient Town has been renovated with various historical, art and design exhibitions.

Venue: Nantou Ancient Town, Nanshan District (南山区南头古城)

Metro: Line 1 to Taoyuan Station (桃园站), Exit B, and then walk northward for 20 minutes

SZ, Nuremberg photos

A total of 100 photographic works taken by people in Shenzhen and Nuremberg are on display until Jan. 19, 2021. Nuremberg, a transportation hub in Germany, became a sister city of Shenzhen in 1997.

Venue: North Shenzhen Book City’s CBD Store, Futian District (福田区深圳书城中心城北区)
