Cross-border travelers required to register online before arrival
    2020-12-31  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CROSS-BORDER travelers are required to book a health-center room on an online reservation system before arriving in Shenzhen, the Shenzhen Municipal Office of Port of Entry and Exit announced on its official WeChat account Tuesday.

The measure will be officially implemented Jan. 5.

The reminder notes that arrivals through Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint are required to reserve a room on the Online Health Station Room Reservation System (the link: https://hk.sz.gov.cn:8118/) and possess a reservation confirmation document, so that the Shenzhen authorities can arrange the rooms where the visitors must be quarantined for 14 days. Travelers need to present the confirmed reservation to officers at the checkpoint.

Some related information will also be attached.

The operating hours of Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint is 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Any changes will be announced.

The room reservation system was officially launched and opened for registration and reservation at 10 a.m. yesterday. The operating times for reservations is 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The system will only accept reservations up to seven days in advance.

Travelers are required to complete the online reservations with ID numbers and possess the reservation confirmation documents that are valid on the day of arrival at Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint from 10 a.m. Jan. 5, 2021.

Related posters and broadcasts will be displayed at Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint to remind passengers. Travelers shall present the confirmed reservation to officers at the designated venue and head to a health station according to the arrangement. The reservation confirmation document is a system-generated two-dimensional code, which can be displayed on cellphones and other electronic devices. A paper-based one is also welcomed.

Those who fail to present the confirmed reservation will be rejected from entering and sent back to Hong Kong. If it is impossible for travelers to return to Hong Kong due to special circumstances, arrangements will be made for them to take turns to check in to the unreserved or unused rooms. (Xia Yuanjie)
