Chang Zhipeng 57589527@qq.com A FLYOVER connecting Guimiao Road in Nanshan District and Qianhai was opened to traffic Thursday morning, cutting the commute time from the communities east of Yueliangwan Boulevard to Qianhai by 20 minutes. The 770-meter flyover, including a 519.3-meter bridge over Yueliangwan Boulevard, has been built in accordance with the standard of an urban highway. It has eight lanes in two directions with a designated speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour. The flyover is the first phase of a larger transportation project that will connect Futian District with Qianhai. An underground highway is being built in Qianhai to connect with a tunnel underneath Guimiao Road and Binhai Boulevard, extending eastward all the way to Futian and Luohu districts in the second phase. Drivers had to take a detour to Yueliangwan Boulevard and Dongbin Road to go to Qianhai from Nanshan District before the opening of the flyover. “When the underground road in Qianhai is completed, there will be one more way to access Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway in Qianhai,” said Bao Changchun from the infrastructure construction department of Qianhai Investment Holding, investor of the project. |
