AN exhibition featuring the phased achievements of the Shenzhen International Block Initiative officially opened to the public Thursday, putting on display the characteristics and blueprints of the city’s first batch of 20 international blocks.

The show is located on the Shuhai terrace in the north area of Shenzhen Book City CBD Store in Futian District and is expected to last until late January.

In June 2019, Shenzhen started a three-year pilot program to build 20 international blocks that will set an example for the city’s international block network. The first batch of 20 blocks covers nine districts and Dapeng New Area.

Sun Huaizhong, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, said at the launch ceremony of the exhibition that the international block construction is a pioneering undertaking of Shenzhen in promoting its foreign affairs.

At present, relevant work has been in progress in the 20 international blocks to improve their own facilities and service abilities and enhance their distinctive features.

According to the city’s foreign affairs office, it marks the first time that phased achievements of the 20 blocks have been put together and exhibited since the city started the construction of the international blocks.

The exhibition is well-planned in space design, visual delivery and on-site experience, giving citizens an immersive experience to understand the construction process of international blocks through the display of all kinds of interesting public products and the design of interactive activities.

The exhibition also presents the “Just Shenzhen” city experience route and @755 series city guide produced by CityPlus, an online-to-offline interactive platform enabling the world to get to know Shenzhen.

“The Voice of Shenzhen,” a bilingual radio program jointly launched by Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation (SFIEC) and Shenzhen Evening News on Ximalaya, an online audio-sharing platform, is showcased through audio installations in the exhibition.

The exhibition is hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, and organized by SFIEC, Shenzhen Evening News and Shenzhen Ximalaya.
