Quarantine rooms ‘in abundant supply’
    2021-01-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE supply of rooms available for Shenzhen’s health stations, or quarantine rooms, is relatively abundant, the city’s checkpoint authorities said Sunday. Cross-border travelers are reminded to make reservations online before their arrival in the city, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported yesterday.

On Dec. 29, 2020, Shenzhen issued a notice and launched the Online Health Station Room Reservation System (https://hk.sz.gov.cn:8118) in order to ensure that all travelers entering Shenzhen through Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint will be able to book into health station rooms for quarantine and medical observation.

The measure was officially implemented today.

As of 8 p.m. Saturday, the system recorded 21,570 registered users and 4,359 people have made reservations for 3,270 rooms.

According to statistics, 1,980 people have made reservations for 1,565 rooms for today; 902 people have made reservations for 646 rooms for tomorrow; 713 people have made reservations for 503 rooms for Thursday; 764 people have made reservations for 556 rooms for Friday.

The system will accept room reservations for registered users for up to seven days in advance, providing for a maximum of 2,000 people per day.

There are still plenty of rooms for the next few days and travelers are reminded to make an appointment in advance, the authorities said.

In order to provide better services for inbound passengers, the staff of Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint will offer on-site booking services for the elderly who are not familiar with the requirements of the new measures and online booking from today to Monday. (Zhang Yu)
