A FREE employment counseling service for expats was offered at Shekou Foreign Legal Assistance Center on Friday.

Employees from Hired China, a professional job-hunting website for expatriates, were invited to give voluntary employment counseling, provide job recruitment information and train expatriates on job interview skills.

Four expats got service on this first event of a series. An expat identified as Maria, an Indian IT project manager, praised the information that had been provided, saying it may help foreigners find better jobs in the city.

Shekou Foreign Legal Assistance Center, established in September last year, will hold “One Issue One Month” seminar starting January to address the concerns among expats and help solve the problems they face in their lives.

Shekou Foreign Legal Assistance Center, which is located on the first floor of Shekou Management and Service Center for Expats in Shekou Subdistrict, is the first public legal service platform for expatriates in Guangdong Province. It offers nonprofit legal consultation, legal aid, notarization and tax and visa consultation services to expatriates in the city.
