THE Shenzhen-based Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) will conduct independent enrollment tests in Hainan Province this year to expand the process to a total of 23 provinces and municipalities.

This year’s application for SUSTech’s independent enrollment has started and will end April 30. The closing date for those from Zhejiang Province and Shanghai is May 15.

Intended applicants can register in SUSTech’s undergraduate enrollment system and submit the required materials on its website: https://register.sustech.edu.cn.

Applicants in Guangdong, Liaoning, Hebei, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu and Fujian provinces, and Chongqing Municipality are required to take physics in the national college entrance examinations, or gaokao. They are also told to choose SUSTech in the advanced batch to apply to the university.

Qualified applicants will be notified to attend a capability test arranged by SUSTech, held after the gaokao. The final score of each student for the independent enrollment of SUSTech will be comprised of 60 percent of the gaokao score, 30 percent of the capability score and 10 percent of the high school academic proficiency test score.
